Mackenzie Highway 50th (1998)The 50th Anniversary of the Mackenzie Highway was celebrated with a motor cavalcade including an interpretive exhibit on board a semi-trailer truck. The cavalcade started at Mile Zero in Grimshaw and visited communities on route to the 60th parallel and Hay River. Fort Vermilion hosted over 450 guests. The Fort Players used the heritage houses at the Community & Cultural Complex as a set for a historical skit. The museum featured an exhibit about the Mackenzie Highway and some vintage videos with a heritage focus were shown.
